TCF in the United Kingdom offers local Contacts (befrienders) who listen and share with the bereaved.
Parents feel a great relief as they talk about their child - the way he or
she died, his or her place in the life of the family, feelings they may find
difficult to express elsewhere. Our local Contacts provide a safe environment
for bereaved parents and their families to express themselves in the company
of others who understand their grief.
Our local Contacts will support all bereaved parents and their immediate families, where children may have
died at any age and from any cause. We also have Contacts for the following
specific groups:
- Shadow of Suicide
(SoS) - where a child has taken his or her own life
- Childless Parents
- for parents with no surviving children
- Families Bereaved
by Homicide (FBbH)
- Grandparents
- Brothers and sisters
We can put you in touch with a local Contact who will give you information
about the support available to you locally, such as group meetings. They are
also there if you would just like to talk.
Please note that, unfortunately, TCF (UK) can only offer support and full membership to residents of the United Kingdom.
If you are seeking help outside the UK you should try our TCF Links page and follow the links to a TCF group in your own country. If your country is not listed then email our International Liaison Officer, international@tcf.org.uk who will do her best to put you in touch with someone.
Please fill in the boxes below and press submit if you would like to be put
in touch with someone. You will need to tell us about your circumstances and
your locality so that we can put you in touch with the most appropriate contact. You
can also give your address and phone number if you wish one of our representatives
to contact you this way.
If you intend to become a member of TCF then you may give us the following
information on our Membership
Form. You will need to indicate that you would like to be put in touch
with a Contact in the "Other Information and Comments" box towards
the bottom of the membership form.
Please fill in as many fields as possible. Fields marked with a * are
required information, and will allow us to get in touch with you later.
We apologise for the fact that due to the amount
of emails we receive, we cannot always provide a same day email reply to
Local Support requests. If
you would like an immediate response to your request (and also if you would
like
leaflets
and/or a sample newsletter) please phone our new local rate Helpline no. -
