We are desperately short of volunteers to help with the work of supporting bereaved parents and their families.
CAN YOU HELP US
************************************************************
NATIONAL TCF VACANCIES
Do you have the time to take on the duties and responsibilities of a Trustee or other Officer of TCF?
As a Trustee you would be responsible for the charity's management and administration, and helping to ensure we meet all of our organisation aims, objectives and goals, in accordance with our governing documents, and other legal and regulatory guidelines.
The Board of Trustees works together as a team and needs to consist of a mixture of skills, knowledge and experience so that the charity is well governed and runs effectively, economically, and appropriately to its size and complexity.
Key areas of management that we need additional help with are:
Community Fundraising; Corporate Support; Events, Finance; IT; Marketing; Policies, Procedures & Guidelines; Professional Networking; Publications; Public Relations & Media, Training; & Volunteer Support.
Many hands make light work so do you have relevant skills and experience that you can offer TCF?
One of our existing Trustees would be pleased to have an informal discussion or answer any questions you may have regarding their experiences and responsibilities as a Trustee.
For further information please contact:
Company Secretary, TCF, 53 North Street, Bristol BS3 1EN
Email: secretary@tcf.org.uk
Nominations for the post of an elected Trustee need to be submitted
by the 10 th September 2008. (Please note that it is recommended that Members will have been bereaved for a minimum of 18 months before volunteering for a position within TCF).

Fundraiser
Do you have a penchant for raising money? If so, TCF needs you.
Can you help us to obtain sufficient corporate funding to support our current operational expenses and our future plans to improve our services.
Since losing the support grant from the government two years ago, we have had to rely, in the main, on donations in order to continue our support for bereaved parents and their families.
TCF needs a stable financial base so that we can look at ways of enhancing our profile to the public at large and the relevant official bodies as well as continuing training of our volunteers.
You do not necessarily have to be a bereaved parent, sibling or grandparent in order to carry out this pivotal role in our organisation.
If you feel that you may be able to help, please feel free to discuss the post with Mike, our office manager in Bristol, Tel No:- 0845 120 3785
County and Local Contacts
We need County and Local Contacts in various parts of the United Kingdom.
-
Are you a bereaved parent who has been helped by TCF in the past?
-
Do you feel that you are now able to give support to other bereaved parents in your area?
If you meet these requirements, and you live in one of the areas in the lists below, please consider taking on the role of County or Local Contact in that area
Ideally, it should be two years or more since your child died and you should be able to talk openly about bereavement to another parent without becoming emotionally involved.
Training will be offered, but not necessarily before you become part of our support network. As a County Contact you would need to maintain records of parents contacted and to keep our office staff in Bristol aware of any new TCF members in your area. Additionally, you would be instrumental in raising the profile of TCF in your local area.
