Childless Parents Newsletter, Autumn 2020

Newsletter for Childless Parents | www.tcf.org.uk 2 Hello to you all I hope you are well andmanaging as we slowly come out of the nightmare of lockdown. I know I have done a lot of thinking, which isn’t always a good thing! I am lucky to have my job which has kept me busy. I have written a couple of articles myself this issue. One of them relates to the decision I made about organ donation. I recently had our story included in the press release for the NHS Organ Donations annual report, and was interviewed on our local radio station. I like to do these things as it raises awareness but also allows me to talk to anyone who will listen about my Oliver. I am sure you can all identify with that. If you would like to share your story then please send it through to me for a future issue. I posted in the facebook group looking for articles, or memories from you about any happy times you had with your beautiful children. The other piece I have written is about something Oliver and I shared. A TV programme we loved, so spoiler alert in case you haven’t watched it or are watching it at the moment. It was broadcast over 10 years ago, but is still very popular. So much so that I take part in a weekly live watch. Using a hashtag we discuss the episode on twitter as we watch. It has helped me during lockdown, and we all need something don’t we. Please feel free to contribute to the newsletter. I would love to hear from you. If you would like to send me a dedication to remember a birthday or anniversary I am happy to include it, along with a photo should you want to. Look after yourselves. Sending you love Kirstie x Oliver’s Mum PS Thank you to Maggie Pinsent for the lovely front cover photograph Thoughts from our editor
