Newsletter for Childless Parents | www.tcf.org.uk 8 Why did you have to leave us Why did you go my son You went away in August Now you’re forever 31 You were the centre of our lives and a big part of my soul And now within my heart there is a gaping hole You were so clever and so skillful and wonders you did perform Your smile was oh so bright when you made a robot transform. You liked to dress up dolls and told me you were a Brony You said lots of guys were fans of My Little Pony You liked to make your movies combined Carry On and cartoons The resulting mini masterpieces made me feel over the moon You always had an intro with a Gummi bear and the sequence with Transformers was beyond compare The hero always triumphed, the villain met his match The ending was so happy as the baddies were dispatched You liked to do your voices especially Sid and Ken I can’t believe I’ll never hear your lovely words again You loved to watch the quizzes and you were filled with glee when there came a question where you knew more than me You were always so caring and tried to ease our pain Shall I make it better you would say again We miss your lovely laugh and the things that you would say Oh my darling Danny why did you go away Your mum and me will carry on, we will bear our pain but we can’t wait until the day that we see you again We wish you peace, you have our love We miss you so our son We wish you didn’t have to be Forever 31 Forever 31 A selection of poems from Bob Esdaile...
