Childless Parents Newsletter Summer 2021

Newsletter for Childless Parents | www.tcf.org.uk 2 Hi everyone. It feels like we might finally be coming out of this nightmare of lockdown as everyone is slowly getting their vaccinations and things get back to as near normal as possible, a new normal I think it will be. It was the 6th anniversary of losing my Oliver at the end of February. One of those days we all dread, but like every other day we survive and get through. This year for me was a bit different so I thought I would share it with you. I enjoy my social media conversations, but these days I am more on Twitter than Facebook as it suits me to be one of a big crowd so I don’t stand out like a sore thumb. A few days before the anniversary I saw a tweet from BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker. He simply asked if everyone was OK. I don’t usually get involved with tweets like that but I felt compelled to respond and say no, it’s days before my son’s anniversary and it’s tough. He replied to me and asked about Oliver, we swapped a few messages and he said he would try and send me a message on the day. It made me smile and brightened that tough build up we all face. I didn’t expect anything really, maybe a personal message saying he was thinking of me on the anniversary and maybe not even that. How wrong I was. Thoughts from our editor
