Compassion, Autumn 2021

Autumn 2021 - Compassion | www.tcf.org.uk 5 Autumn Leaves Strange, I have been walking through the late Autumn lanes for the past hour, lost in thought, not noticing the russet, gold and honey toned leaves tossing themselves under my feet, willing me to be part of it all, and I stopped, in shock. Is this how I’m existing, trapped in the past or buried in fear of the future? No, I want to be fully present in each moment of my life, to stride through beech-wood lanes, to kick crisp bursts of leaves into the cold breath of the sunlit air, and before I become vein thin with my own winter, to celebrate this difficult, this painful, this impossibly beautiful world.
