It's a lovely opportunity to meet up together, as well as hear about all the charity has been involved in during the past year. It's also a chance to meet our trustees and staff and help shape the future direction and activities of TCF. We are delighted to welcome our guest speaker this year, Maria Ahern. Maria is a working barrister and is a former Chair of The Compassionate Friends. Her son and only child, James, died suddenly in 2014. Maria has spoken many times at retreats and gatherings, and her talk A Good Mourning is available to watch and listen to on our website. Her words are hugely helpful and inspiring for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. We hope you will join us. We hope it will be a help to those who are supporting bereaved parents and their families. Do feel free to send or share the leaflet link with others you know who come across or support bereaved parents. You could send the link or the leaflet to any friend or contacts who are healthcare professionals - for instance doctors, nurses, other clinicians and anyone who works in a healthcare setting such as a GP surgery or community mental health or in-patient, or hospital setting. With this leaflet we aim to help clinicians and healthcare practitioners offer better support and signposting to our charity to bereaved parents and siblings. We also hope to foster better understanding among professionals of the devastating and brutal impact of child loss.
