Candles lit at 7pm. The Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting gives bereaved families everywhere the opportunity for a time of quiet reflection and to remember their children, siblings and grandchildren. This year, once again, we warmly invite you to join us in a special online event where we will share some words and light candles together to honour and remember all our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and grandchildren who left too soon. This event is part of the Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting which was begun in 1997 and continues every year on the 2nd Sunday in December. As candles are lit on 10 December at 7pm local time all over the world, hundreds of thousands of people commemorate and honour the memory of all children gone too soon. A truly international event, The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held, and thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes, as families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died and will never be forgotten.
