Compassion, Spring 2024
12 tcf.org.uk COMPASSION | MEMORY CORNER James In the blink of an eye you were born, In the blink of an eye you were gone, You completed my heart from the start, My blonde, blue eyed boy with his big brother and sister, Together we worked through the ups and the downs, We laughed, we cried, we hurt, we loved, What now? Why? I have no answers, My heart is in pieces, no longer complete, My arms ache to hold you, To never let go, Your time was too short, You had so much to do, So many plans that will never come true, This isn’t how life was meant to be, Please call me and tell me you are coming home soon, Put my heart back together and let’s start again, We can all get together, we can laugh, we can sing, We will fulfil all your plans, just tell me when, In the blink of an eye you were born, In the blink of an eye you are gone…… Remembering James shared by Hilary Prosser I wrote this poem when my son James died on 17 June 2022. James passed very suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 28. The poem was read out at his celebration of life service. Remembering Nikki & Robin Shared by Gina Claye My two precious children, Nikki, 19, and Robin, 32. March is the anniversary month for both of you so as Spring approaches, it brings back many memories, Robin. I was hoping Wales would do better in the Six Nations Rugby this year but they’ve already been beaten by Scotland. Nikki, your pink rose still blooms beautifully reminding me of your lovely presence. With our dearest love, Mum, Dad and Rachael xxx
