Compassion, Spring 2024

28 tcf.org.uk TCF NEWS | LOCAL NEWS - KINGS LYNN CANDLELIGHTING & WINTER WALK IN MERSEYSIDE E arlier this year, 12 bereaved parents and siblings braved the January weather and spent a few hours at Formby Beach together on a TCF walk led by bereaved parent and volunteer walk facilitator, Marcia. They walked and talked together in shared understanding and support in these beautiful surroundings, stopping for a picnic lunch. O rganized by Sue Wilson one of our bereaved mums, Kings Lynn Compassionate Friends group held a candlelighting and remem- brance service for our children at St Faith’s Church, Gaywood on 10 December last year. The group lit candles next to photographs of our beloved children and we then decorated wooden ornaments which were hung on the Christmas tree. A beautiful service followed led by the lay preacher from the church in which all of our children’s names were read out and there were poems and readings from members of the group. Afterwards we enjoyed refreshments. As the weather improves more walks for bereaved parents, adult siblings and grandparents will be shared on our website.
