Compassion Summer 2021

Summer 2021 - Compassion | www.tcf.org.uk 5 Anne Bray, Jess’s mum, makes a ‘How to survive the day’ list: “The most important thing is to be aware of how I’m feeling. Do I need to go gently for a while or can I try taking the next step. I’m so grateful to have found TCF, a place to share my grief with others who understand. Over time as my resilience builds I have a growing sense of peace. I’m learning to take a day at a time, pausing for a while to be grateful for what I have and what I’ve learnt about what really matters in life: Love and Compassion for others and for ourselves. I’m ok, I’m me, and that’s good enough.” It was a privilege to listen to how these wonderful people survive and keep going. I’m now going to wrap up, in both senses of the word, go out in the garden and tidy my rockery, taking some Thornton’s treacle toffees with me - just of course for energy. I’ll leave you with words spoken by Rachael Claye, who told us about how she met other bereaved siblings at a TCF Gathering. “For the first time”, she said. “I was able to express exactly how I felt. Being understood is powerful medicine.” With my love to you all, Gina Claye, Nikki and Robin’s mum I have not heard your voice in years, but my heart has conversations with you every day My garden
