Compassion Summer 2025

33 tcf.org.uk TCF NEWS | NEWS FROM AROUND OUR CHARITY News from around our Charity We need additional help with TCF leaflets – particularly from men for this remote working role. TCF publish more than 60 information leaflets, booklets and factsheets. The work on new leaflets and updating of existing materials is a collaborative effort. We have a small team of volunteers (parents and siblings) who help with one or more of the tasks of proofreading, writing, editing or research. Sometimes the task is simply reading over a draft leaflet and giving opinions on the tone and content. We work hard on making the leaflets inclusive and easyto-read, as well as representative of different people and their circumstances. A few of our long-time helpers have needed to step away, and we are now looking to add more people to our team. We are specifically looking for a couple of men so that there will be experiences and viewpoints from fathers reflected in the leaflets. Are you: • good with the English language • bereaved 4+ years • willing to sign up as a volunteer for TCF, including adhering to our volunteer agreement and having an enhanced Disclosure Barring Certificate (DBS) check • able to edit documents in Microsoft Office on a Windows PC or device. You will need your own PC/tablet • reliable with communications – able and willing to respond to emails • available to help for the equivalent of 1-2 days a month • a good listener (although there are no ‘verbal’ conversations, you will need to be able to listen to suggestions and also different points of view) • someone with an empathetic and inclusive outlook? Volunteers needed for TCF Leaflets If you’d like to apply to join our team or give it a go, please complete the survey here: surveymonkey.com/r/JKBLL59 Updated supportive leaflet A father’s grief There are many different ways of being a father. We may or may not be living now with the mother of our child, or perhaps we never have. We may be part of a blended family. We may not be the biological father of our child, but we have been fathering them. We may be single, or one half of a same-sex couple who had our beloved child via surrogacy. Our child may or may not have been living under our roof. This leaflet has been rewritten for all bereaved fathers. Our wish is that the words will offer you comfort, reassurance, empathy and support. Download at tcf.org.uk/fathersgrief If so, we’d love to hear from you. Our communications are all done via email, so it doesn't matter where you live.
