33 tcf.org.uk TCF NEWS |IN MEMORIAM In Memoriam Carolyn Brice, CEO of TCF, shared her thoughts about Gina and the contributions she made to our charity. “I first met the indomitable Gina Claye when I joined the TCF staff team in the national office in 2013. It is hard to find the words to describe how much Gina gave to me personally and to TCF. Her legacy will live on. Only one week before her death we ran a retreat for parents bereaved by suicide or substance use and this retreat was originally Gina’s idea. From 2013 to 2022 Gina was a trustee of TCF and she always put support for bereaved parents and siblings front, centre and at the heart of everything she achieved while on the Board. During this time she never stopped supporting parents. She fronted many retreats and gatherings – many of you will have met her there - with her wonderful way with words and her common sense but hugely empathetic approach. Gina facilitated many, many support groups for parents – particularly parents bereaved by suicide – both in-person and online – as well as offering her support 1-1 to countless bereaved parents. She assisted Sue Hughes, helping her with support for the newly bereaved parents attending the Marlow TCF group. And, of course, Gina edited TCF’s magazine Compassion for many years only stepping down just a few months ago due to her poor health. She took so much care with the magazine, and I was fortunate to be able to work closely with her in this role and saw first-hand the thought and pride she poured into each issue. Remembering Gina Claye In August, we sadly learned of the death of Gina Claye, former trustee and volunteer with TCF.
