My child has died. How do I talk about my grief?

19 As you go forward… You will learn which friendships are supportive. Perhaps there will be some friendships that pause for a while or quietly come to an end. As time goes on, you will gradually feel stronger, calmer and less bothered by the thoughtless things that other people may say or do. Most important of all, you will become more confident in deciding how, where, and when, you want to talk about your child. Remember, you don’t have to manage your grief alone. There are other bereaved parents at The Compassionate Friends who are happy to have a conversation with you. You can join a group, online or in person, or call our helpline for support. Our contact details are on the back page.
