We love this idea for a creative activity prompt, which has been borrowed with gratitude from the exquisite Avery’s Garden blog, created by Tara and Mike Denz in honour of their son, Avery. Avery's Garden features a section on a form of art that the Denz’s call “creative heARTwork: the expression in an art form that comes from the innermost feelings of your heart”. The creative activity prompt is as follows: One mindful activity that can be done is to sit down in a quiet space and trace your hands. Start with the left side. Write, draw or colour in things that were important to you before your grief. It can be things you enjoyed. how you liked to spend your time, etc. Really think about your life. Then, start on the right side. This is the "after grief" of your current life. What is important now? Have things changed? What holds value...and are you satisfied with this new way of living? This prompt may make you realise some things that have come from your journey. Reflect in your creation.
