SIBBS Newsletter Spring 2023
SIBBS Newsletter, Spring 2023 | tcf.org.uk 7 You could say 'I'm here for you' 'Life will never be the same' You could say 'I'm sorry this has happened' 'But you will learn to live again' Don't say 'I understand' Or 'I know how you feel' Don’t stay quiet either As I'll doubt our bond is real At the end of the day It may not be right No matter what you say But show you'll be there through a long lonely night Don't turn to social media To proclaim your love for the person gone Find a special place where they are present Tell them, they will hear your love lives on You could send a meaningful gift Or a thoughtful letter You could send a text without a question mark A homemade freezer meal even better Don't pop over unannounced Or send flowers (it reminds us of death) Don't make plans too far ahead Or feel you have to fill the silence of shaky breath I can’t tell you what I need The best I can do is wake up and breathe Whatever you decide to do It needs to feel right for you Don’t feel guilty for laughter Or planning a life event Involve me, act as normal My sadness is not yours to prevent After all is said and done There is no right way to be Grief is unpredictable And it shows itself through me Kaz Melvin 21/10/21 I don't know what to do?
