TCF News, Autumn 2021
Autumn 2021 - TCF Newsletter | www.tcf.org.uk 10 Gill and Neil Hardy held their annual ‘Tom’s Pie in the Sky’ get together in July - an event in memory of their beloved, son Tom. Gill writes “we kept it small this time because of Covid, but we managed to raise just over £500 which we have shared equally between The Compassionate Friends and a local charity for disadvantaged teenagers”. A huge thank you to Gill, Neil and their family and friends for choosing our charity as one of the beneficiaries. What a wonderfully colourful event and it looks like the weather was kind. Thank you so much. Fundraising Round Up A warm thank you to all our fundraisers and donors - large and small Tom’s Pie in the Sky Amanda Cunniffe took part in a charity cycle ride from Manchester to Blackpool and raised over £1000 for TCF in memory of her step- son, Mikey Cunniffe, who died in October 2020 while at Manchester Metropolitan University. Amanda’s best friend, Kerry Cain, joined her on the 63-mile journey, having both taken up cycling during lockdown. After the ride they were interviewed on BBC North West and an article appeared in the Daily Mail Online raising awareness of our charity’s support for bereaved parents and families. A warm thank you to both Amanda and Kerry for their fabulous ride and awareness-raising. From Manchester to Blackpool in memory of Mikey Louise Mapp raised over £1400 from donations made supporting her Cross Bay Walk in August. Over 500 people took part and Louise told us the event was a ‘fantastic experience’. A huge thank you to everyone who walked and donated. Louise and friends complete Cross Bay Walk
