Autumn 2021 - TCF Newsletter | www.tcf.org.uk 3 “Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to everyone for being involved in the stunning walk around the canal in the Camden area and Regent’s Park. Seeing the hustle and bustle, all the boats and barges and the beautiful colours everywhere - was joyful, especially when shared with other parents and siblings. Definitely beats the loneliness that sometimes defines child loss….I mean the feeling of people not really understanding or sadly not allowing any space to mention our child’s name! Thanks to the organisers, volunteers, to fellow walkers and bereaved parents for being there for one another. Means the world”. M, bereaved mother Walking has been a great way for me to find peace, even just for a moment in all of our new lives and is great to share time with new and those with time in on this journey. S, bereaved father “I really appreciated the walk with the knowledgeable Terry today. It was lovely to (be) walking and talking to peeps who understand and you are not on tenterhooks they will say something inane and upset you or get bored with my talk of (my son). It has done me the world of good. They all looked after me as I was so newly bereaved”. F, bereaved mother “...thank you so much for giving up your Saturday to lead this walk. My mum and I had a very enjoyable time rediscovering the lovely parks, and we were so fortunate with the weather”. A, bereaved sibling What you said... Trains, Barges and Pedalos – July
