Walking Through Treacle is her personal expression of grief following the sudden, devastating and tragic loss of her son Joe. Through 24 poems and letters to Joe, Safina chronicles the first year of grief after the death of her beloved son. All proceeds from sales of Walking Through Treacle go to The Compassionate Friends to support our work with bereaved parents and their families. This will be a unique opportunity to be together in a safe place to hear from and share with others who have experienced the loss of a child. Come and meet with others who understand the pain of early grief, and immerse yourself in the comfort and warmth of a dedicated team of bereaved parent volunteers. These support days will be a mixture of discussions and activities which you are free to participate in as much or as little as you want. The cost for the day will be £25 per person - including refreshments, a light lunch and activities. This cost can be waived for those in financial difficulty.
