Winter 2020 - TCF Newsletter | www.tcf.org.uk 11 How You Can Help TCF’s fundraising income is down this year in line with many charities as nearly all challenge events have been cancelled and people are faced with their own economic challenges. However, if you can, please consider supporting TCF. Here are a few ways you can help. Take on a challenge Royal Parks Half Marathon We have some places for runners in the deferred 2020 Royal Parks Half Marathon, now taking place on Sunday 11 April 2021. We ask runners to raise a minimum of £250. If you would like to register and to raise funds for TCF, please email stephen@tcf.org.uk in the first instance. Vote for TCF in Ecclesiastical’s Movement for Good Ecclesiastical has launched this year’s 12 days of giving offering UK charities, like The Compassionate Friends, an opportunity to be nominated for a donation of £1000. They are donating £1000 to 10 charities each weekday from 7-22 December. Could you help us to get this financial assistance? £1000 can really make a difference to us and help us to reach and help more bereaved parents and families with our unique peer support, understanding, friendship and hope. All you need to do is visit www.movementforgood.com/12days and click ‘nominate a charity now’. The Compassionate Friends charity number is 1082335. For type of charity, please choose COMMUNITY. Thank you. Each draw will close at midnight the day before, with all nominations rolled over to the next available draw unless the charity is drawn. The more nominations we get, the greater our chance of receiving a £1,000 donation, so please do nominate us and start spreading the word to your friends and family. THANK YOU so much. Donate to TCF’s work in supporting parents bereaved by suicide via the Aviva Community Fund Please visit the Aviva Community Fund to donate to TCF’s campaign: www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/supporting-parents-bereaved-by-suicide Donate while you shop (at no cost to you!) If you shop in John Lewis and/or Waitrose, please go to the customer services desk in store to complete a Community Matters form on TCF’s behalf. The firms are not using green tokens at the moment. Instead three charities are chosen each quarter who will receive an equal amount at the end of the quarter. In the case of Waitrose, the three charities receive an equal share of £1,000 a quarter, and for John Lewis a share of £3,000.
