MEMORIAL SERVICE for Babies and Children

3 December 2017, 12.30 pm
East Sheen Cemetery Chapel, Sheen Road, Richmond, Surrey TW10 5BJ

Everyone welcome to attend, which are held in the cemetery chapels. During hte service the service there will be a period of personal reflection. The name of those we wish to remember will be read out during the service. Please give the names of those you wish to be remembered to the staff member at the chapel door.

You will be invited to place a personal message on the Christmas tree if you wish to do so, and tea-lights will also be available for you to light and leave burning throughout the service. This year we are inviting families to bring a helium balloon with them. We shall gather outside the chapel at the end of the service and release them in memory of those who we are thinking of at this time of the year.

REMEMBRANCE SERVICE for anyone who has lost a child.

5 December 2017, 7.30 pm
Holy Trinity Church, 70 Main Road, Bolton le Sands, Carnforth, Lancashire LA5 8DU.

The Compassionate Friends Remembrance Service for anyone who has lost a child. All bereaved parents, siblings, relatives and friends are welcome.

There will be an opportunity for everyone to light a candle and write a name on a star to hang on a branch in the church. There will be a short service with a reading, hymns, poems, prayer and some CD music chosen by parents.

Following the service there will be tea, coffee and biscuits and an opportunity to meet other families (but there is no obligation to stay).

The two Deptford Compassionate Friends groups are hosting this event at Jessica's Heart in Deptford. Time: 6.00 pm for candle lighting at 7.00.

Please bring a photo of your child. All very warmly welcome to share in this
24-hour across the world ceremony of love and remembrance.

Bring a small sharing platter and anything you would like to drink.

Hythe (Kent) TCF Group are holding our Worldwide Candle Lighting at the beautiful Look Out and Remember site overlooking the sea at Folkestone, joining our friends - the founders/artists of Look Out and Remember - three of whom who have also lost a beloved child before their time.

Wrap up warm, bring something warm to drink/nibbles, and arrive in good time for the 7 pm candle lighting, poems and time to remember.

Bring a torch/lantern and your candle/tea light in a jam jar or similar, as this event is outside. You could also put a pebble in the pebble pool in memory of your child.

Bolton Compassionate Friends group will be holding their annual candle service.

The event is a non-religious service of poetry and songs for bereaved parents, siblings, grandparents and extended family. All are invited to bring along a photo of their child(ren) to be displayed at the front of the church during the service and to join us for refreshments following the service.

The service is approx 45 minutes long and it is hoped it brings peace and comfort to families at what is a very emotive time of year.

The Didsbury Compassionate Friends Group will be holding a candle lighting event to honour our children at Christmastime.

All bereaved parents are welcome to bring a selection of food to share and meet at 12 noon and have lunch together. Afterwards we decorate a memory candle jar and the candles are lit in memory of all our children. You can then take the jars home and re-light them at 7 pm.

All bereaved parents, their families and friends are invited to attend.

Please bring a photograph of your child to be displayed throughout the service.

The service will consist of suitable readings, some hymns/carols, candle lighting and a period of quiet reflection.

You will be invited to write your child’s name on a butterfly slip to be read during the service. These slips will be kept in a Book of Remembrance.

Vivienne and Gill, after much thought and discussion, have decided that this will be their last service for the Compassionate Friends. Our thanks go to all those who have helped us over the last 12 years. We hope it has been a help to those of you who have attended one or more of these services and perhaps someone might like to carry on where we have left off.

All are welcome to our annual ‘Celebrating a Life’ candle-lighting ceremony.

You may like to bring a flower and a photo of your lost child or children. Meet in the church hall afterwards for a coffee and a chat.
