Killerton, Devon Walk

Killerton, Devon Walk

3 May 2025, 11.00

Booking for this walk and informal café meetup has now closed. If you would like to participate in either please email us before 1 pm on Friday 2 May 2025. Thank you.

Bereaved parents and TCF volunteers, Yvonne and Jancis are leading the next walk in South West England on the lovely Killerton National Trust Estate on Saturday 3 May, meeting at 11 am for an 11.15 am start. This is walk for bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings over 18.

This should be a lovely Spring walk, through the estate, including bluebell woods and farmland. It will be a variation of previous TCF walks offered in the same area.

Our walk will be approximately 5 miles, with a slightly undulating route.

We may come across livestock but the animals are very used to people walking here.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but may need to be on leads in some of the farmland.

It may be rough and wet underfoot, and appropriate footwear will be needed.

The start of the walk*** can be reached by bus from Exeter,or Tiverton/Cullompton. There is also easy car parking by the start of the walk.

There will be a stop during the walk to eat our packed lunches, and afterwards there will be time to relax in the Stables coffee shop before we all head home.

INFORMAL MEET-UP AFTER THE WALK

Any bereaved parents, grandparents or adult siblings who do not wish to join the walk are welcome to join Yvonne and Jancis at an informal meet up at 3 pm at the Stable café at Killerton. Please register HERE if you would like to join at the café only so that they know who is coming.

***

We ask that you wait until you have been bereaved for at least 3 months before joining our supportive walks. New walk dates are regularly added here, and we hope to welcome you at a future walk.

Our peer support is for parents bereaved of a child from one month old to an adult son or daughter, from any cause. We also offer support to bereaved grandparents and adult siblings (aged 18+)

Please call our Helpline on 0345 1232304 or email helpline@tcf.org.uk for support.

We look forward to seeing those who have walked with us before, and to welcome those who are joining us for the first time.

If you haven’t walked with us yet, please don’t feel daunted or anxious about joining. You’ll quickly find yourself part of a warm, friendly and supportive community of others who have experienced similar bereavements.

***A welcome email will be sent out approximately one week before the walk, providing additional information and details about the meeting point. This email will come from info@tcf.org.uk, so please keep an eye out for it. (It may sometimes end up in junk or spam folders, so please check there if you’ve registered and haven’t received the email.)

Please remember, if you bring a friend or relative for initial support, they will not be able to join the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent, or adult bereaved sibling.

As this is a supportive walk, we ask that you stay together as a group for the duration of the walk.

Please note that individuals join a TCF walk at their own risk.

To register for the walk, please click ‘book for this walk’.
