16 July 2016, 10.30 – 16.00
Horfield Quaker Meeting House, Bristol
Offering bereaved parents a safe, warm and private place to share their grief, concerns, worries and feelings with other parents is just one of the many core and important activities of our charity. Groups are a way that we can really deliver to the bereaved the peer-to-peer support and comfort that comes from being with others, and that is at the heart of what we do.
The next information and training day for support group contacts is on Saturday 16th July in BRISTOL. So, if you wish to start a support group for bereaved parents/siblings or are already running a group and would be interested in sharing your experiences, refreshing your skills, getting some ideas and tips for running a group, as well as meet up with other volunteers with TCF, please do reserve a place on the day.
In a small, friendly group environment, we cover topics such as the practicalities of running a support group, what facilitating a peer support group actually is, what makes a good group facilitator, the challenges of running the group, and how to assess the 'health' of your group, among other topics. Usually at these training and information days, there are a mixture of volunteers who are already running a group as well as those who are new to it, or are just considering it - so we do share experiences and learn from each other.
The venue is easy to get to from Bristol Parkway station (one bus door to door) and is also accessible from Bristol Temple Meads. There is also some parking available.
Support our work
Each year thousands of parents suffer the loss of a son or a daughter. Please help TCF to support families in their time of greatest need.
Tell us what you think
Whatever your contact with TCF we encourage you to give us feedback so that we can continue to improve our support.
