The 6th Rainford 10k

The 6th Rainford 10K running race will be held on on 7th October, and will be raising funds for The Compassionate Friends and in memory of George Faulkner. This year the 10k run is being held close to the 10 year anniversary of George's death on 10th October.

The George Faulkner Memorial Cup - presented to the 10k winner - is in memory of George Faulkner who was a pupil at Rainford Technology College between 2002 and 2007, George loved all forms of sport. He was training to become a joiner until he was fatally injured aged 17 in a road accident at Windle Island, St Helens in October 2008. The First Rainford 10K race was set up so that his friends, family and local community could remember him and to raise funds for a number of charities, including The Compassionate Friends.
