22 April 2019, 11.00

Richmond Park, Richmond

We are delighted to announce that we are resuming The Compassionate Friends Walks.

The first in the 2019 series will take place on Easter Monday, 22nd April.

For this first walk of the year, we will take advantage of the Spring and visit the Isabella Plantation, a 40 acre woodland garden within Richmond Park. It is best known for it’s evergreen azaleas which line the ponds & streams, and are at their peak of flower in late April/early May.

We did visit the plantation on one of last year’s walks but at a different time of year. On this walk we should see the Plantation at it’s very best. The colours are glorious and vibrant as Spring bursts into life.

We will meet at 11 am outside Richmond Station, which has excellent transport links and is served by railway (including a fast train 16 minutes from London Waterloo), underground & overground lines.

We will walk through some lovely parts of Richmond and along the River Thames to reach the Park. Lunch will be at Pembroke Lodge and the walk should finish at about 3.30 pm with an option of a post-walk drink at a near-by pub.

The walk will be approximately 5 miles at an easy pace so comfortable footwear is advised.

For more information or to confirm you are coming email Terry at terryjahern@gmail.com or call him on 07753832929 if you’re running late.
