Exploring Old London
The latest in the series of Compassionate Friends walks for bereaved parents is on Spring Bank Holiday Monday 27th May.
This walk will be looking at places of interest in The City of London which should be relatively quiet on Bank Holiday Monday compared to other parts of town.
We will start from London Bridge Station in London at 11 am.
Please meet at the Meeting Point on the Concourse near the Marks and Spencer food hall opposite platforms 11-12.
We will cross London Bridge and experience lovely views of the Thames then we will enter The City of London to discover its wealth of history & architecture.
We will be exploring old alleyways and streets to find architectural wonders including St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Royal Exchange, Leadenhall Market, The Guildhall and The Monument to the Great Fire of London.
Our route of approximately 5 miles will include an interesting section of the Thames Path.
There is no need to contact Terry in advance. Please feel free to turn up on the day. Please note that the walk usually begins on time. A lunch stop is included, please bring your own lunch as options for food along the way may be limited. There will be the option of a well-earned, post walk drink at a traditional London pub.
For more information or to confirm you are coming email Terry at terryjahern@gmail.com or call him on 07753832929 if you’re running late.
