London 'Parks and Palaces' Walk

London 'Parks and Palaces' Walk

22 May 2021, 11.00

Waterloo Station, London

PLACES STILL AVAILABLE.

From mid May there are some easing of restrictions including gathering together in groups and opening of hospitality venues. We are, therefore, delighted to be able to restart our series of walks this spring and summer - all bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents are warmly welcome to join us on Saturday 22 May. Meet at 11 am.

This is a wonderful 5 mile walk taking in several of London’s major tourist attractions including Trafalgar Square, Buckingham & Kensington Palaces.

Our walk leader and guide is bereaved father, Terry Ahern, and he will be giving short commentaries on places of interest during our walk together.

Walking will be at an easy pace mainly through the green, open spaces of some of the beautiful Royal Parks.

Comfortable footwear is advised but walking will be on firm surfaces - so no mud!

There will be a lunch stop at a cafe in one of the parks, if possible. Or bring your own picnic for lunch!

Meet inside Waterloo Station at 11 am, on the main concourse underneath the clock.

The walk will finish at approximately 3.30 pm at High Street Kensington Underground Station.

There will be the option of a well-earned drink in a traditional pub after the walk - due to restrictions once we know numbers attending and staying on for a drink we will try to book some tables at a suitable venue for around 3.30 or 4 pm.

Depending on restrictions, this will be the first of a series of monthly walks throughout the spring and summer of 2021.

The walks are intended to be interesting, an opportunity to socialise and chat to other bereaved parents and family members as well as to offer some exercise to support our mental and physical wellbeing.

Terry has deliberately set the timing and start and finish points to allow anyone to join this walk from outside of London.

Please note that although we are asking you to register for the walk (due to the COVID guidelines), if you need to cancel your place please let us know at info@tcf.org.uk so we can offer your place to another walker (if we have a waiting list).
