London Walk - Trains, Barges and Pedalos
17 July 2021, 11.00 – 15.30
Meeting at St Pancras International Station
This will be the third in our series of London TCF walks this spring and summer - all bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents are warmly welcome to join us on Saturday 17 July at 11am.
Our next walk will explore the stunning development of the Victorian industrial area behind Kings Cross.
From there we will walk along the towpath of the lovely Regents Canal until we reach the expanse of Regents Park. Here we will stop for lunch at the cafe in the Park or for those who prefer it, there are benches to enjoy a packed lunch.
After our break, we will explore the prettiest parts of this beautiful park including the lake and the Rose Gardens which should be in full bloom offering an incredible variety of colour and scent.
The distance is approximately 5 miles long and we will walk at a moderate pace finishing at Baker Street station at about 4pm. After the walk, there will be the option to make your way home or to stay together for a well deserved drink at a nearby pub.
We will meet at St. Pancras station on the upper level by the ‘Meeting Place’ statue. The statue depicts a couple embracing and is 9 metres (or in old money 30 feet) high so it is easy to find!
Please gather from 10.45 as we will be making a prompt start at 11 a.m.
Please also note that as we will be walking at a moderate pace the walk may not be suitable if you cannot walk unaided.
Due to COVID guidelines, there are 30 places on the walk available to bereaved parents, siblings & grandparents. Please note that we are asking you to book for the walk, but if you need to cancel your place please let us know at info@tcf.org.uk so we can offer your place to another walker (if we have a waiting list). When you book please give us the name of each person coming on the walk or book for each person separately (for COVID guidelines). Many thanks.
The walks are free and are designed to offer you an opportunity to socialise and chat to other bereaved parents and siblings as well as to offer some exercise to support our mental and physical wellbeing. However, you can if you wish give a voluntary donation at the time you book or at www.tcf.org.uk/donate.
