Pirton, Hitchin

Bereaved dad, Dave, will be leading his second walk for The Compassionate Friends in June. Here he tells you a little more about what he has planned...

Hi everyone

I will be leading a walk from the lovely village of Pirton situated at the top of the Chiltern's AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in Bedfordshire. The walk will be a 6 mile circular walk and we will walk along the Icknield Way discovering some of its hidden history to Pegsden Hills and Hoo Bit Nature Reserve with outstanding views.

The walk will start at the Chapel Tea Room, 14 High St, Pirton, Hitchin SG5 3PS, What 3 Words ///kipper.giving.airbrush

This is a tea room in a church so the choices may be limited. Please also note this will be the only toilet stop before heading off and no toilets are available until the return to Pirton.

Parking is available on the roads near the tea room.

There will be an opportunity to have a drink in the Mott and Bailey pub on return to Pirton for those who are interested.

We will meet at 10.15 for a 10.30 am start and allow 3 to 3.5 hours for the walk, I recommend this walk for over 18's and for people who are used to some hill walking.

Looking forward to seeing you.

David
