24 March 2023 – 26 March 2023

Stirling Court Hotel, Stirling

Weekend places are now fully booked. There a few Friday/Saturday places available including day visitor places. Any queries for options can be directed to Maureen on her email address maureenmactcf@gmail.com or telephone number 01738 631406.

We warmly invite you to join us for our 25th Anniversary Scottish Gathering in March 2023 to be with others who know exactly the agony and anguish of losing a much loved child, sibling or grandchild. For some of you your loss may be very recent, for others perhaps some time ago but here with us you can freely share your precious and special memories and ‘say their name’ with others on the same journey and who understand exactly how you feel and ‘just get it’.

The venue will again be the Stirling Court Hotel and every effort will be made to keep it as intimate and respectful as possible despite us not having exclusive use of the venue. Bearing in mind that we were able to freeze the costs last year and, given the current cost of living crisis, the organising team have negotiated a favourable 10% increase in the cost of the weekend and look forward to welcoming you at the end of March and would encourage you to book early.

A few comments from those who attended the last Scottish Gathering in Stirling:

Honestly, I loved the weekend. I'm so glad I attended. And everyone was so friendly, I never felt intimidated being alone, so thank you all for that.

This was my first Scottish Gathering. I honestly can't see how it could be improved. Everyone on the committee and all the helpers and staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, helpful and compassionate. If I can say it, unfortunately I look forward to many more Scottish Gatherings in the coming years.

The whole weekend was excellent. I have never felt so much support and kindness in one place and feel privileged to have met up with people who are on the same sad, lonely journey. I can't thank you enough.

Events and Activities

Please don’t feel that it is necessary to attend all the events on the programme, only participate in as much or as little as you wish and feel comfortable with. However, if you would like to, you can take part in a variety of discussion groups; craft workshops; sharing sessions as well as physical activities like walking together or taking advantage of the campus sports facilities. There will also be a remembrance and candle lighting service and a special room where photos and memories of your precious children, grandchildren and siblings may be displayed. In February we will write to you with the full programme and joining instructions for the Gathering.

Are You Feeling Unsure?

If you would like to speak to someone before booking for the weekend, please feel free to call Maureen on 01738 631406 or mobile 07952 405329 or email maureenmactcf@gmail.com
