BOOK FOR THIS EVENT

This will be a unique opportunity to be together in a safe place to hear from and share with others who have experienced the loss of a child.

Come and meet with others who understand the pain of grief for a beloved child and immerse yourself in the comfort and warmth of a dedicated team of bereaved parent volunteers. This support day will be a mixture of sharing sessions and activities which you are free to participate in as much or as little as you want.

The cost for the day will be £25 per person - including refreshments, a light home-cooked lunch and all activities.

Bursaries - there are some bursaries available to help cover the cost of the day for those experiencing financial hardship. Please contact us on 0345 120 3785 or email us to ask for a bursary application form before May 26th 2023.

Please note that our retreats are run by bereaved parent volunteers. Our volunteers are not professionals and so what we offer is a uniquely warm, comforting and supportive day organised and facilitated by parents who have also experienced the loss of a child and have found understanding and hope themselves through The Compassionate Friends.

Here's what people have said who came to a support day last year:

"There are so many words in my head at the moment to describe what an amazing day Saturday was for me. It was a very comforting and supportive day. I felt as though I was amongst friends even though most of us were strangers, but we all shared the same reason for being there."

"This has been a wonderfully helpful day. Having the space and freedom to share has been the most therapeutic experience since my son's death. There was a good mix of events and opportunities to talk in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. "

"I arrived feeling quite alone and not understood during the year since my son died. After today I feel understood and not so alone. Thank you."

"I have felt supported and empowered to know there is support I can turn to."
