Meet at Waterloo Station, London

This walk is now fully booked. If you would like to be added to the waiting list to join on Saturday 22 April please would you email info@tcf.org.uk. We will then add you to the waiting list and contact you nearer the time should we receive cancellations. We are sorry if you unable to join us this time - Terry's next London walk is on Saturday 20 May - so please feel free to book to join us then.

The first London Walk for 2023 will be in Richmond, only a 16 minute train journey from Waterloo where we shall meet at 11 am.

We will make our way from Richmond Station through charming streets of elegant houses to Richmond Park where we may see deer as we continue to the Victorian woodland enclosure of the Isabella Plantation. At this time of the year it should be awash with colour from the various blooms especially the azaleas and rhododendrons. With it’s streams & ponds, Isabella Plantation can feel like a Magical Kingdom.Lunch will be at Pembroke Lodge which has a cafe, a kiosk and outdoor seating for those wishing to bring a packed lunch.

In the afternoon we leave the Park to admire the famous view from Richmond Hill, described by Sir Walter Scott as “An unrivalled landscape”.

We then descend from the Hill to walk back to the Station or to a traditional pub nearby for those who wish to stay on for a well earned drink. The walk will finish at approximately 4pm.

The walks offered by TCF are free and are designed to offer you an opportunity to socialise and chat to other bereaved parents and siblings as well as to offer some exercise to support our mental and physical wellbeing. However, you can if you wish give a voluntary donation at the time you book or at www.tcf.org.uk/donate

If you haven’t walked with us before, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining on your own. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved and understand.

Our walks are approximately 5 miles at a steady pace and unfortunately will not be suitable for individuals who require an aid for walking.

Please also note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent or adult bereaved sibling.

For more details and to register, please click on the, 'book for this event' link. Once you register, we will be in contact with you by email prior to the walk to give you more information and meeting point details.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that the details of this walk may be subject to change
