Thames Path, Cookham Moor Walk

8 April 2023, 11.00 – 15.00

Sue and Paul are organising a TCF walk on Saturday April 8 (that is the Saturday of Easter weekend). All bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings (18 years and over) are warmly welcome.

At Cookham Moor, Winter Hill, Thames Path in Berkshire (Between Maidenhead and Marlow). With a stop at a riverside pub for lunch.

Distance: About 4 miles.

Itinerary:

We will be meeting close to the railway station in Cookham, Berkshire.

If getting the train there is a train from Maidenhead at 10.30 am. It is the train to Marlow. Stops at Cookham at 10.42 am.

There is only one train per hour so DO NOT MISS THIS TRAIN!

We will walk through Winter Hill golf club, cross the railway, up to top of Winter hill, lovely views down over the Thames. Then down to Thames Path.

We will stop for refreshment at the Bounty Pub around lunchtime. This is right on the riverside. And then make our way back to Cookham station.

Please note there is one hill- up and then down towards the start of the walk.

The walk is mainly off road. Dogs are welcome but will need to be on a lead at some places (through the golf club).

The pub has lots of outside seating. We hope to be able to sit outside.

We aim to be back at Cookham station about 3pm. There is a train back to Maidenhead at 3.15pm and 4.15pm.

For more details and to register, please click on the, 'book for this event' link. Once you register, we will be in contact with you by email about a week prior to the walk to give you more information and meeting point details.

Sue and Paul - who are leading the walk - are both bereaved parents and TCF volunteers. If you have not walked with us before do not feel daunted or apprehensive about joining us. We are a friendly supportive community of others similarly bereaved and we look forward to welcoming you on our walk.

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
