Trelissick National Trust Gardens and Estate, Cornwall

Bereaved parent and TCF volunteer, Maggie, is leading the next TCF walk in Cornwall, near Truro, on Saturday April 29th at 11am. Please click on the booking link to register.

The walk starts at the National Trust Trelissick Estate. It is an easy graded and short walk, approximately 2 miles, taking in beautiful parkland and woodland as it winds round the Carrick Roads estuary and creeks of the River Fal. The ground can be uneven and muddy in parts so walking shoes or boots are ideal. Waterproof clothing is also a good idea in the event of wet weather. Unfortunately, it is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

There will be the opportunity for a break half way so please feel free to bring a drink and snack. On our return to the start there is the option to have a picnic lunch or for those that wish to there is a café serving hot/cold drinks and food.

Friendly, well behaved dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead initially.

If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, adult bereaved sibling or grandparent.

There are public toilets available and there is a large car park which is £5 per day or free for National Trust members. There is a limited bus service, number 493 from Lemon Quay (Truro).

For more details and to register, please click on the 'book for this event' link. Once you register, we will be in contact with you by email prior to the walk to give you more information and meeting point details.

All bereaved parents, adult bereaved siblings and grandparents are warmly welcome.
