Bereaved parents Julie, Lynne and Leanne are planning their next walk at Ogden Water Local Nature Reserve, near Halifax for Sunday 7 May 2023. Meet at 10.15 am for a 10.30 am start.

Hello all

We are three bereaved parents who met through attending our local TCF support group in Brighouse. We would like to offer the opportunity for bereaved parents, adult bereaved siblings and grandparents to have regular opportunities to come together to walk and talk through our shared experience of losing someone close.

If you haven’t walked with us before, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining on your own. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved and understand.

This will be a circular walk, with varying terrain, included wooded paths and tarmac. It could be muddy under foot if the weather hasn’t been kind beforehand. We’ve a few routes to choose from depending on the weather on the day, ranging from approx. 2 to 4 miles. We plan to be together for 2-3 hours.

There is parking available - payment via an honesty box. Please note that parking is quite limited.

A toilet is available - although it’s not always open.

Please bring waterproofs, wear suitable walking shoes and a packed picnic and drinks.

As the weather can still be quite changeable, we have been advised to remind you that you take part in the walk at your own risk.

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.

All bereaved parents, grandparents and adult bereaved siblings (18 years+) are welcome. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 7 May 2023.
