17 June 2023, 10.45 – 15.00

Strathyre, Stirlingshire

Bereaved parents, Marjory and Barbara, invite you to a walk and light lunch at a beautiful converted church in stunning Strathyre, Stirlingshire - a stunning area 8 miles north of Callender.

Marjory and Barbara write...

Our day together will begin by meeting at 10.45am ready to walk together at 11.00am (see below for details of the meeting point, emailed to you after you book and closer to the date of this event). Marjory will lead the walk for about 2 hours and then we will return for a light lunch that Barbara will have prepared. We most warmly invite bereaved parents, grandparents and adult siblings to join us.

The converted church house where we will meet for lunch is situated at Strathyre which is on the edge of the Loch Lommond and the Trossachs National Park. The river Balvaig runs through Strathyre and meets with Loch Lubnaig. The area is steeped in history and is of great beauty. Callander is 8 miles south of Strathyre.

Strathyre is accessible by car and it is on a bus route. The nearest train stations are Glasgow and Stirling with buses running also from Stirling, Glasgow and Callander. There are free carparks very nearby the start point of the walk and the Church House.

This walk is very accessible for all levels of fitness with the paths being mostly wide and even with only a couple of gentle inclines. The walk before lunch is approximately 3 miles. Make sure you have clothing for all weather conditions and perhaps some ‘midge repellent’ just in case!

Our walk together will give us the opportunity to walk and talk whilst admiring and absorbing the beautiful surroundings.

Please note if you would prefer not to join the walk, then you are welcome to the lunch only, but please indicate this when you book. Thank you.

The walk and lunch are offered free of any charge but if you would like to make a donation to our charity please do so when you book. Or donate at www.tcf.org.uk/donate and let us know you are donating for the Stirlingshire walk and lunch. Thank you.
