Bereaved parents Julie, Lynne and Leanne are planning their next walk from Tong Village, near Bradford for Sunday 11 June 2023. Meet at 9.45 am for a 10.00 am start. (Later in the morning the car park tends to get a bit busy so hence the start time of 10 am).

Hello all

We are three bereaved parents who met through attending our local TCF support group in Brighouse. We would like to offer the opportunity for bereaved parents, adult bereaved siblings and grandparents to have regular opportunities to come together to walk and talk through our shared experience of losing someone close.

If you haven’t walked with us before, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining on your own. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved and understand.

This will be a circular walk, through some woods and countryside for about 4 miles. The walk is along well marked public footpaths. Note that there could possibly be cattle, sheep or horses in the fields that we pass through.

Car parking at the meeting point is free. The walk will start at 10 am as it can get a bit busy for parking after that .

Please bring a drink and snacks for the walk. Please also bring waterproofs as the weather may be changeable and wear suitable walking shoes.

We would prefer that you bring a packed lunch for after the walk. (The nearby pub, The Greyhound, can get very busy on Sundays so we had not planned to have lunch there. However if you wish to eat at the pub please do book if you wish to).

As the weather can still be quite changeable, we have been advised to remind you that you take part in the walk at your own risk.

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.

All bereaved parents, grandparents and adult bereaved siblings (18 years+) are welcome. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 11 June 2023.
