Tong Village Walk, near Bradford

Tong Village

Bereaved parents and volunteers, Julie, Leanne and Lynne warmly invite you to join them for a walk from Tong Village, near Bradford, on Sunday 13th August at 9.45 am for a 10.00 am prompt start. Later in the morning the car park tends to get a bit busy so hence the start time of 10 am.

This will be a circular walk, through some woods and countryside for about 4 miles. The walk is along well marked public footpaths. Note that there could possibly be cattle, sheep or horses in the fields that we pass through.

Please bring a drink and snacks for the walk and wear suitable walking shoes.

You are welcome to bring a packed lunch for after the walk. (There is a nearby pub, The Greyhound, but it can get very busy on Sundays so we had planned not to eat there. However if you wish to eat at the pub please do book)

We welcome all bereaved parents, grandparents and bereaved siblings (18 years or over). We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.

If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.

We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details)

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
