Bereaved Fathers' Day

This will be an opportunity to be in a safe place to hear from and share with other fathers who have experienced the loss of a child.

Come and meet with others who understand the pain of grief for a beloved son or daughter (aged 1 month to an adult child) and immerse yourself in the support and understanding of a team of volunteers who are bereaved fathers themselves.

The day will be a mixture of discussions and activities, including a guided walk in this interesting area of the City of London.

The cost for the day will be £20 per person - including refreshments, lunch and all activities.

Please note that there is help to cover the cost of the day for those experiencing financial hardship. Please contact us on 0345 120 3785 or email us to ask for a bursary application form.

Please note that our support days are run by bereaved parent volunteers. Our volunteers are not professionals and so what we offer is a uniquely warm, comforting and supportive day organised and facilitated by parents who have also experienced the loss of a child and have found understanding and hope themselves through The Compassionate Friends.

Here's what previous parents who came to a support day last year have told us:

"There are so many words in my head at the moment to describe what an amazing day Saturday was for me. It was a very comforting and supportive day. I felt as though I was amongst friends even though most of us were strangers, but we all shared the same reason for being there."

"This has been a wonderfully helpful day. Having the space and freedom to share has been the most therapeutic experience since my son's death. There was a good mix of events and opportunities to talk in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. "

"I arrived feeling quite alone and not understood during the year since my son died. After today I feel understood and not so alone. Thank you."
