Killerton Estate, Devon
Bereaved parent and TCF volunteer, Yvonne, is leading her next walk on Saturday 14th October, meeting at 10.45am am for a 11am prompt start.
Her next walk will explore the Killerton Estate in Devon. We shall meet in Budlake Village, close to where the Exeter to Tiverton bus stops, where there is free parking. We shall take the footpath over the field for a short walk to the entrance to Killerton where there are refreshments and toilets, before following the public footpath that runs in front of Killerton house and garden and onto the wider Estate.
We shall be walking through farm and woodland, enjoying the beautiful Autumnal colours as we go.
We shall have our packed lunches near to the Ellerhayes Bridge after leaving the Culm valley. From the Culm valley we shall gently take a small hill up to the area known as The Plains, giving us good views back over the valley.
The walk will be about 5 miles and there are well marked paths, though rough underfoot. Some of the fields may contain cattle, but they are all very used to people. Dogs are welcome but will have to be on leads.
Before heading home, there will be the opportunity to have refreshments in the Stables Coffee Shop.
We welcome all bereaved parents, grandparents and bereaved siblings (18 years or over). We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.
If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.
We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details)
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
Please register your interest/book for this walk by clicking on the 'Book for this event' button below.
