Exploring the Isle of Dogs - London Walk

16 September 2023, 11.00

Isle of Dogs

Sorry this walk is now FULLY BOOKED. If you would like to be added to the waiting list please email info@tcf.org.uk. We will then contact you nearer the time should we receive cancellations.

This is a brand new walk offered by Terry.

We will meet at Liverpool Street Station at 11am on Saturday 16th September then take a 6 minute trip on the Elizabeth Line to Canary Wharf where our walk will begin. The Elizabeth Line is London’s newest rail service, known in it’s project phase as Crossrail & opened in May last year. It’s quite an experience in itself to take a ride on it’s modern trains & see the impressive new stations.

The Isle of Dogs is a fascinating area & quite different from other parts of the city. The old docklands have now become an ultra-modern metropolis. Despite recent development there are still lots of green spaces to enjoy, including an urban farm where we will stop for lunch. There is a café and seating nearby for those wishing to bring a picnic.

The walk will be approximately 5 miles in length and finish at Canary Wharf which has several transport links. There will be the option to visit a pub before starting your return journey if you wish. As this is an urban walk, places will be limited to 30 people for safety of all walkers so please book early if you would like to be with us.

We welcome all bereaved parents, grandparents and bereaved siblings (18 years or over) If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.

We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details)

Please register your interest/book for this walk by clicking on the 'Book for this event' button below.

The walks are free and are designed to offer you an opportunity to socialise and chat to other bereaved parents and siblings as well as to offer some exercise to support our mental and physical wellbeing. However, you can if you wish give a voluntary donation at the time you book or at www.tcf.org.uk/donate.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that the details of this walk may be subject to change
