13 April 2024, 11.00

Liverpool Street Station, London

THIS WALK IS NOW FULLY BOOKED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO ON A WAITING LIST PLEASE EMAIL info@tcf.org.uk AND TITLE YOUR EMAIL WAITING LIST: TALE OF TWO CITIES WALK 13 APRIL. THANK YOU.

Our first London walk of 2024 for bereaved parents, adult siblings and grandparents is title A Tale of Two Cities. The walk will be led by TCF volunteer, and bereaved dad, Terry.

On this walk, of approximately 5 miles, we start in The City of London and make our way to The City of Westminster taking in many famous & some less well known sights along the way. Please note that the route crosses the Thames river twice.

We will meet at Liverpool Street Station at 10.45 am, for an 11 am start.  We will share the exact meeting point with you approximately one week prior to the walk.

There are several choices for our lunch stop depending on how busy venues are on the day. The places Terry has in mind will have café, pub or picnic options -  so something for everyone we hope.

The walk should finish before 4 pm at Green Park underground station which is served by the Victoria and Piccadilly Lines. There will be an opportunity to join Terry for a well-earned drink in a traditional pub after the walk and all are warmly welcome.

***

Please note that our peer support and walks are for parents bereaved of a child from one month old to an adult son or daughter, from any cause.

We are sorry but if your loss is within the last 3-4 months, we think it would be best to wait a little longer before accessing our supportive walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis on our website. We hope to welcome you at a future walk.

We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.

If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.

* We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and exact meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details)

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.

These walks are very popular and unfortunately, for safety, you will appreciate that we have to put a limit on the number of walkers Priority will therefore be given to those who have not walked with us before.

To register for the walk please click ’book for this event’.
