Brandon Country Park Walk
27 March 2024, 11.00
Bereaved parent, member of our support group in Norwich and TCF volunteer, Peter, invites you to a mid-week walk for bereaved parents at Brandon Country Park in Suffolk on Wednesday 27 March, starting at 11 am. Bereaved parents from Norfolk and Suffolk, or anywhere within striking distance of the Park, are warmly welcome.
This is easy walking in pine forests for a distance of approximately 4 miles, which will take 1.5-2 hours.
It is generally easy walking on wide sandy tracks, but walking boots or good trainers are probably best. The walk is entirely in the forest and there are no roads or rivers. There can be the occasional overhead noise and appearance of aircraft taking off or landing at the nearby Mildenhall/Lakenheath airbase.
There is a car park available at Brandon Country Park and toilets at the start and finish of the walk. Refreshments are available at the Park café after the walk.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted on or off lead.
***
We are sorry but if your loss is within the last 3-4 months, we think it would be best to wait a little longer before accessing our support walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We hope to welcome you at a future walk.
We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.
If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.
Please be aware that your email address will be given to our walk facilitators so that they can be in contact with you closer to the time. A TCF volunteer will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. Please look out for it and please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details.
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
To register for the walk, or to express an interest, please click ’book for this event’.
