19 May 2024, 11.30
Bereaved parent, member of our support group in Norwich and TCF volunteer, Peter, invites you to a walk on Sunday 19 May, starting at 11.30 am, for bereaved parents, siblings (18 years plus) and grandparents. This walk will follow part of the extraordinary Pingo Trail Walk. This will be a fascinating walk of approximately 4 miles in Mid Norfolk, just north of Thetford in the heart of The Brecks.
Car parking at the meeting place** is free. Unfortunately there is no public transport to the start of the walk but some lifts are offered from Norwich.
This is easy walking, but suitable stout shoes or walking books are recommended. There will be no road walking, but please note that the environment involves water and ponds.
Dogs are welcome.
There are no facilities at the meeting place or the walk. Please note that Peter advises bringing water and refreshments and the group will stop at a suitable and agreed point.
Please do sign up if you would like to join Peter and other bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents on this walk and talk together.
***
We are sorry but if your loss is within the last 3-4 months, we think it would be best to wait a little longer before accessing our supportive walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We hope to welcome you at a future walk.
We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.
If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.
** Please be aware that your email address will be given to our walk facilitators so that they can be in contact with you closer to the time. A TCF volunteer will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. Please look out for it and please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details.
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
To register for the walk, or to express an interest, please click ’book for this event’.
