BOOK FOR THIS WALK HERE
Bereaved parents and TCF volunteers David & Fiona invite bereaved parents, adult siblings and grandparents to join them on their next Compassionate Friends walk at Ellesmere on Saturday 27 July, meeting at 10.15 am for a 10.30 am start.
The walk will be around 4 miles in total and is easy walking which should be suitable for all. This route is mainly level and includes stretches of canal towpath, lakeside promenade, woodland and meadow footpaths with one short flight of steps. We should expect muddy patches and tree roots. Please note that the route goes through a park with a children's play area.
We will be stopping for coffee and/or lunch at the Lakeside Café at about 12:30 pm.
There is free car parking close to the meeting point** Local bus services run from Shrewsbury, Whitchurch, Oswestry, Wrexham, etc. to the meeting place** – check local timetables.
Well-behaved dogs permitted. Leads required as this is a semi-urban walk.
Please wear strong footwear – trainers may be adequate but will come home muddy. Keep an eye on the weather forecast but
bring waterproofs anyway.
We welcome all bereaved parents, grandparents and bereaved siblings (18 years or over). We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.
We hope very much that you will join us.
***
We are sorry but if you are less than 3 months bereaved, we ask that you wait until you are 3 months or more bereaved before accessing our support walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We hope to welcome you at a future walk.
We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.
If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.
**We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk or from walk facilitators, David and Fiona themselves, so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven't received details).
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be¯unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
