Regency London Walk

21 September 2024, 10.45
Meet at London Paddington
WE ARE SORRY, BUT THIS WALK IS NOW FULLY BOOKED. There are still places for the walk in London on Saturday 26 October. Details here.
This walk for bereaved parents, adult siblings and grandparents, on Saturday 21 September is entitled Regency London and will start at Paddington station, meeting at 10.45 am for an 11 am prompt start***. We will walk along the Regents Canal through Little Venice then on to Warwick Avenue to explore the architecture in this little known part of London. The route eventually reaches Regents Park where we will visit the impressive rose gardens and other floral displays.
There are several cafes and restaurants where we stop for lunch, and a park for those wishing to bring a picnic lunch.
The walk will cover approximately 5 miles at a steady pace; unfortunately this walk will not be suitable for individuals who require an aid for walking. We should finish around 4 pm at Baker Street with it’s many train and tube connections. For those who wish to there will be the option to stay on for a refreshment at a nearby pub.
The walks offered by TCF are free and are designed to offer you an opportunity to socialise with and chat to other bereaved parents and siblings as well as to offer some exercise to support our mental and physical wellbeing. However, you can if you wish give a voluntary donation at the time you book or at www.tcf.org.uk/donate
***
Please note that our peer support is for parents bereaved of a child from one month old to an adult son or daughter, from any cause.
We ask please that you wait until you are at least 3 months or more bereaved before accessing our support walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We very much hope to welcome you at a future walk. During this time, please contact our Helpline on 0345 123 2304 for support.
***We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven’t received details within 4/5 days of the walk).
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
As this is a supportive walk, we ask that we stay together as a group for the duration the walk. Thank you. Please note that all walkers join us at their own risk.
