Exeter Walk

14 September 2024, 11.00
Booking for this walk is now closed. If you would like to come please email info@tcf.org.uk before 4 pm on Friday 13 September to find out more details of the exact meeting place. Thank you.
Bereaved parents and TCF volunteers,Yvonne and Jancis, invite you to join them on their next walk in this historic part of Exeter on Saturday 14th September, meeting at 11 am for a 11.15 am start.
We will meet near to the river about 5 minutes walk from Exeter St Thomas station and the adjacent bus stops. There is a car park at the meeting place, which costs about £5 to park for the day***
We will walk down to the historic Exeter Quayside, and onward downstream beside the river. We will have an early stop for our packed lunches before walking on through Riverside Valley Park. We will join the canal at the picturesque Double Locks pub,and return to the Quayside, where we will have the opportunity to visit a café for refreshments before we all head home.
The walk is about 4.75 miles in length and is level. The paths are good, but some are unmade and are rough underfoot. It could be muddy in wet weather. Appropriate footwear will be needed.
We hope you will join us.

Please note that our peer support is for parents bereaved of a child from one month old to an adult son or daughter, from any cause.
We ask please that you wait until you are at least 3 months or more bereaved before accessing our support walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We very much hope to welcome you at a future walk. During this time, please contact our Helpline on 0345 123 2304 for support.
***We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven’t received details within 4/5 days of the walk).
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
As this is a supportive walk, we ask that we stay together as a group for the duration the walk. Thank you. Please note that all walkers join us at their own risk.
Please register your interest/book for this walk by clicking on the ‘Book for this walk’ button below.
