Formby Coast Walk

Bereaved parent and TCF volunteers, Marcia and Sue, will be leading their next walk along the beautiful Formby coastline on Saturday 16 November, meeting at 10.45 am for an 11 am start.

The walk will be approximately 4 miles at an easy pace. The route includes beach, sand dunes and pinewoods but the paths are mostly good and well trodden so walking shoes are adequate. We expect to finish our walk together between 2 and 3 pm.

Please bring a packed lunch and something drink as there is nowhere to eat en-route. There are toilets at the Lifeboat Road car park. There is an ice cream van in the car park but nowhere else to buy food.

At the meeting place*** there is a charge for the car park (free for National Trust members). There is also roadside parking nearby to the meeting place if preferred.

Please note that our peer support is for parents bereaved of a child from one month old to an adult son or daughter, from any cause.

We ask please that you wait until you are at least 3 months or more bereaved before accessing our support walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We very much hope to welcome you at a future walk. During this time, please contact our Helpline on 0345 123 2304 for support.

This email comes from info@tcf.org.uk so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven’t received details within 4/5 days of the walk).

Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.

As this is a supportive walk, we ask that we stay together as a group for the duration the walk. Thank you. Please note that all walkers join us at their own risk.
