BOOK FOR THIS WALK
Volunteer and bereaved parent, Rebecca, invites bereaved parents, adult siblings and grandparents to join her on her next Compassionate Friends walk in Gloucestershire. This walk will be through the stunning Cotswold landscape at Crickley Hill on Saturday 25 January 2025, meeting at 10.45 am for a 11 am start.
The walk is around 2-2.5 miles at a slow-steady pace (with the option to walk longer if the weather is ok and the group wishes to). The route includes some small hills, walking through woodland and alongside arable fields. Although the ground is uneven in places, there is plenty of walking on clear tracks. Note that a small portion of the walk is alongside the A417 which is loud and busy. We can’t see it but we will hear it!
More details about Crickley Hill are here.
We plan to have refreshments together at the end of the walk. There is a small (dog friendly) café to buy hot drinks and snacks and plenty of covered outdoor seating. You are more than welcome to bring your own drinks and food. There are toilet facilities next to the café.
Dogs are welcome on this walk.
There is parking at Crickley Hill but parking charges (£2) apply at all times. You are able to pay by cash and card on site or at www.parkwithease.co.uk up to 48 hours after your visit. We will email the exact meeting point at Crickley Park closer to the time. **
We welcome all bereaved parents, grandparents and bereaved siblings (18 years or over). We hope very much that you will join us.

We ask please that you wait until you are at least 3 months or more bereaved before accessing our support walks – new walk dates are added on a regular basis here. We very much hope to welcome you at a future walk. During this time, please contact our Helpline on 0345 123 2304 to speak with another bereaved parent volunteer for support and empathy.
We look forward to meeting those who have walked with us before, and also welcoming those who are new to our walks.
If you haven’t yet walked with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining. You will very quickly find yourself in a friendly, supportive community of others who are similarly bereaved.
**We will be sending out a welcome email about a week before the walk to give you more information and meeting point details. This email comes from Rebecca so please look out for it (please also be aware that it can sometimes go into junk or spam folders, so do check there if you have registered for the walk and haven’t received details within 4/5 days of the walk).
Please note that if you bring along a friend or relative with you for initial support, they will be¯unable to join us for the walk itself unless they are also a bereaved parent, grandparent or adult bereaved sibling.
Please note that individuals join a TCF walk at their own risk.
