4 October 2025, 10.00 – 16.30

Glasgow Westerwood Hotel, Glasgow

Please come and join us at our support day for bereaved parents on Saturday 4 October 2025 at the Glasgow Westerwood Hotel.

You are welcome to attend whether you live in or near to Glasgow or elsewhere in Scotland or the UK. You may wish to stay overnight prior to the day to be able to arrive in time at the venue for a 10 am start.

All parents bereaved for 6 months or more are welcome to attend this support day however long they have been bereaved, but if there is demand for places, priority will be given to parents up to 10 years bereaved.

This will be an opportunity to be together in a safe place to hear from and share with others who have experienced the loss of a child of any age (from one month old to an adult child) and to any cause. We hope too that the day will offer the opportunity to meet with other parents for ongoing connection and support.

Come and meet with other bereaved parents who understand the pain of grief for a beloved child or children and immerse yourself in the comfort and warmth of a dedicated team of bereaved parent volunteers. This support day will be a mixture of grief focused sharing sessions and activities.

The cost for the day is £30 per person - including refreshments, a light lunch and all activities.

Please contact events@tcf.org.uk if you would be unable to attend the support day without financial assistance.

Here’s what people have said who attended a previous TCF Scottish support day:

“I left the venue feeling a bit better. Meeting so many people with similar issues helped me a lot. Also talking about ways to tackle problems was beneficial”

“Such a supportive day. You can stop and look around and see people enjoying themselves in what you would imagine to be such a bleak day. Even though everyone has lost a child or children their resilience is clear to see. The need to survive while honouring our loved ones is our only path forward. It is a much-welcomed safe place where you can laugh and cry freely and be understood.”

“It felt like a very safe space, and everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. The leaders in the groups made sure everyone got a turn to speak if they wanted to but there was no pressure to do so. There was a real feeling of warmth and empathy, It was lovely to get a chance to talk about C as there is so little opportunity in everyday life”.

“From the moment I walked in the door I felt so welcome…Never did I feel alone. It was such a warm, friendly atmosphere, which really put me at ease… A great experience”.

***

If your loss is within the last 6 months, we ask that you wait a little longer before accessing our support days. Our Helpline on 0345 123 2304 is here if you would like to talk with another bereaved parent who is there to listen and empathise.

Please note that our support days are run by bereaved parent volunteers. Our volunteers are not professionals and so what we offer is a uniquely warm, comforting and supportive day organised and facilitated by parents who have also experienced the loss of a child and have found understanding and hope themselves through The Compassionate Friends.
